Back on board
The 2026 Stand Up Paddleboard season has started! As always, the May British weather is a little unpredictable! But so far we have managed to run all the classes and even had a little dip in the water afterwards!
The first Saturday early morning session was sunny and fresh, while the May Day bank holiday lunch class was warmer but overcast with fleeting sun. The water had reached 18 degrees centigrade on Monday and although it's dropped back to 15/16 degrees it is still inviting for those who do like to dip in their toes, or more ;)
SUP yoga is great fun, perfect for improving balance and core and it is so lovely to be outside. The sounds of birdsong and gentle splashes make a gorgeous soundscape for practice and Savasana! And the views of the reservoir makes the yoga all the more special, if disconcerting when you realise the backdrop has changed every time you get into dog or look up! You can really focus on your breath and finding peace.
If you're wondering what to wear, leggings or shorts and light long sleeved top and best have your swim things underneath in case you want to get in after! We provide long sleeved waterproof wind jackets if you want them. Always bring a change of clothes and towel in case of wobbles and splashes or splashdowns!
The very best bit about SUP yoga? The smiling faces!
